Diego Almeida is a black belt under Professor Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa. He was born in Brasília, Brazil and started training Judo at the age of 9 through a social project in his school. At the age of 13, Diego started training Jiu Jitsu within another social project. Because of Jiu Jitsu, he began competing and traveling domestically throughout Brazil. In 2014, he was invited to train and compete under Professor Bruno Bastos in Midland, TX.

In 2017, Diego then saw an opportunity to open Seeds 13 in San Angelo. This opportunity allowed him to help the community by sharing his passion for teaching and offering quality Jiu Jitsu. Professor Diego Almeida is successful competitor collecting more than 100 gold medals and Jiu Jitsu has significantly changed his life for the better. It has afforded him the opportunity to travel around the world, competing, and sharing his love for Jiu Jitsu with others. Diego believes Jiu Jitsu is a great tool to help improve people’s lives and character on and off of the mats.
